Kimberley Locke was on Season 2 of “American Idol” when the show was at it’s peak! Though the whole season everyone felt the friendship between Kimberley, Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken. It was a season where voting was intense and you could keep voting as many times as you could get through on the phone lines. We all wanted to keep the three of them together. And, that’s what we did. They landed in the Top 3!
Kimberley went on to make hit singles for Curb Records. You may remember “8th World Wonder,” “Band of Gold,” “Change,” and “I Could”. However, she dropped out of sight to do other things, including life coaching, artist consulting and becoming a restauranteur! How lucky was I? I met J.C. Santalis (Raw Recording) and he told me Kimberley is recording again. So, he made the introduction and I went to her lovely house in the suburbs of New York to talk about her new work.
“I never wanted to be pigeon holed. It is hard for people to embrace that and not want to put you in a box. Now, that I working with J.C. it is all so effortless,” she told me. “J.C. and I have written and produced everything together.” She is doing music she wants to do.
The first single is “Raise Your Hands”. It’s available from all the music providers, eg. Amazon, Spotify, SoundCloud etc.
