If you are in New York City and don’t have a Valentine’s Day plan for your sweetheart or even your best friend this weekend, here is a treat!!! Joe’s Pub will present Violinist Edward W. Hardy tonight at 7 p.m. “Un-Block The Music” spoke to Edward this week about his career and this show. I guarantee it is nothing you have ever heard or ever seen. Just to peek your interest, Edward has accompanied Itzhak Perlman and Justin Bieber…Huh???
A little background….Edward is the composer, music director and violinist of the off-Broadway show The Woodsman for which he won an Obie Award. If you don’t know The Woodsman, it is the story of The Wizard of Oz told by the Tin Man. The show features live performers, puppets, music, and very few spoken words.
Edward said, that tonight’s Valentine’s Day Show will include classical music from Chopin to William Grant, but it will also include Broadway music the likes of Andrew Lloyd Webber, pop songs from Queen, and original compositions and arrangements.
